Interior Painting

Interior painting may be the only home renovation your home needs if it is in excellent condition. If you are considering an extensive paint jog, it is a good idea to consult a professional.  A blank wall is the same as a blank canvas, and a professional painter or interior designer will be able to take your ideas and transform each room into the masterpiece you envisioned.  They will be able to use amazing techniques to add color and texture to any room.  Adding just a wisp of color with interior painting can easily change the entire feel of a room.

The first step in planning is to take a good look around the room you want to change.  What type of furniture and decorations are already in that room?  Will there be changes to any of those items?  What colors are already present and which of those would you like to accent?  These are a few of the basic questions you can ask yourself when you are ready for that interior painting project.  Once you have established the aesthetics of the room you can decide on complimentary colors to add to it.  Color adds several parameters to a room.  Different hues of the light spectrum will cast various shades and emotions to the room.  For instance, soft shades of greens and sages bring the freshness of nature into your home, where various shades of red can be used for a dramatic effect.  Soft shades of lilac have a blue undertone inducing a soothing effect, where as deep resonating purples embody power and royalty.  So, depending on the feelings you want to embrace in that particular room, you will want to convey it to your designer and let them influence that feeling with a splash of color.

Adding patterns with your interior painting project will also add another layer to the overall feel of the room.  This can be done in several different ways.  Your contractor may do simple stenciling that reflects a piece of architecture in the room, like the curve of the metal on your chandelier, or a geometric print that is captured in the area rug.  That in turn can be harvested and imbued onto the wall or mantel, or even the ceiling for a more dramatic touch.  This type of technique can add a dramatic influence on the flow of the room.  As the old adage goes, "less is more".  The stencil does not have to be overly involved to give the effect you are looking for.  Stencils can be applied in a way that they are so subtle you can hardly tell they are there.  They can also be applied in a metallic paint onto a bold colored wall for a more striking effect.  If the designer does not have a pattern that suits you, ask them to help you create one that appeals to your sense of style.

The professional you choose to tackle your interior painting will be able to show you plenty of examples that will make your living space one that is pleasing and inviting.  They will likely show you patterns, designs and techniques that you would have never considered.  When making a dramatic or subtle change to the inside of your home, a professional will be able to make the space all you had hoped for.
